The Fontana Name
“Fontana” is an Italian word meaning “fountain” or “spring”. It comes from the Latin word fons, meaning “spring” or “well”.
The name also pays homage to Lucio Fontana (19 February 1899 – 7 September 1968), an Argentine-Italian painter, sculptor, and theorist. He is known as the founder of Spatialism and exponent of abstract painting as the first known artist to slash his canvases – which symbolizes an utter rejection of all prerequisites of art.
Just as Lucio Fontana broke through traditional artistic boundaries, Fontana the company breaks through traditional data processing boundaries, creating new possibilities for financial data management.
